When Walt Disney's daughter asked him to make a movie of your favorite books, PL Travers Mary Poppins (1964), he made them a promise - one that she knew would take 20 years to maintain. In its quest to achieve the rights curmudgeonly Walt strikes, uncompromising writer who has absolutely no intention of letting your loved one a magical nanny gets mauled by the Hollywood machine.
